New Rig in Action at Alcoa
Geotech has commissioned three new rigs:
1. Mait HR 800 Rig
The new Mait HR 800 has just arrived from Italy. This significant investment is the largest in Mait’s range. Weighing in at an impressive 130t overall weight, with a torque capacity approaching 42kNm of torque, it is indeed an exciting venture for the group.
This rig will complement our existing expanding fleet and allow our in-house design team greater flexibility with pile design and hence offer much more competitive options for our clients.
2. Hi-Rail mounted LoDril Rig.
Believed to be the only unit of its kind in the world, this rig is very unique. Enhancing our rail capabilities, we can now offer true flexibility in large bored pile capacity in and adjacent to live rail infrastructure, whether operating on rail or off.
3. Altas Copco D9C Drilling Rig
Geotech have just commissioned a new Altas Copco D9C drilling rig, which is currently contracted in Melbourne installing anchors.
This new arrival adds to our current fleet of Atlas Copco top hammer rigs, to bring the current fleet up to 5 no rigs.
At last count Geotech now owns and operates the following:
- Service Cranes, excavators, front end loaders, telehandlers – 24
- Large diameter Bored piling/CFA piling rigs – 11
- Concrete/shotcrete pumps – 6
- Small diameter Rotary rigs – 6
- Top Hammer rigs – 5
- Piling hammers/vibrators – 4
