Burnley Tunnel Remedial Works

Geotechnical Engineering was selected from a range of local and international companies to carry out the remedial work in the Burnley Tunnel in Melbourne.

The works involved a major grouting and anchoring program to

seal the rock surrounding the tunnel to prevent water ingress, and
anchor the base and sides of the tunnel into the surrounding rocks

In excess of 24,000 holes were drilled on the project, with a total of more than 140,000 meters drilled.

The project was arguably one of the largest anchoring/grouting job of its type undertaken in the world. Our ability in overcoming the technical challenges presented to us, in an extremely optimistic timeframe, has surely placed Geotech at the forefront for winning future works of this nature.

We have a wide range of specialised grouting and drilling equipment including, colloidal mixer, pumps drill rigs and several concrete corers.
