Steel and precast soldier piles

Soldier piling is a retaining wall solution whereby H-section steel piles (or precast concrete piles) are drilled and placed around the perimeter of the proposed excavation to an engineered designed depth and spacing. These columns are known as ‘soldiers’. Excavation then occurs in stages.  At each stage, sprayed reinforced concrete is applied to secure the sections of retaining wall in between each soldier pile. Once these infill panels are complete, the next stage of excavation can occur.
