Torrens Rail Junction Grade Separation, Adelaide SA
The Torrens Rail Junction is located in parklands around Port Road north of Adelaide. The separation of heavily utilised arterial roads from the suburban and freight train network was viewed as an infrastructure project of great benefit.
Geotech was awarded critical packages of piling works involving continuous flight auger (CFA) retention piles and bridge foundation piles along the newly lowered rail alignment. The majority of the works were completed in two major rail occupations over the Easter and Queen’s Birthday weekends, including night works to minimise disruption to the metropolitan and ARTC rail lines.
