Southern Program Alliance, Seaford Rd Bridge

The Southern Program Alliance (SPA) is removing level crossings at Seaford Road, Seaford; Station Street and Eel Race Road, Carrum and Mascot Avenue, Bonbeach and delivering rail systems and power upgrades.

The project also includes building a new Carrum Station, connecting Station Street across the Patterson River with a new road bridge, the extension of McLeod Road through to the beach, creation of new community spaces including a village green and foreshore park and construction of the new Kananook Train Storage Facility in Seaford.

Geotech's Role:

Engaged by the SPA joint venture, Geotech was nominated to undertake the Seaford Rd foundation piling, inclusive of all materials, plant & equipment, labour and supervision required. 

Geotech was responsible for the design and construction of 80 no. continuous flight auger piles, overhead piles and 16m long controlled modulus columns to facilitate the ground improvement.

In addition to completing a substantial piling package of works, Geotech also completed several dynamic load tests and pile integrity tests.
