Jounama Small Hydro Power Station, New South Wales
Geotech was engaged by Snowy Hydro as Principal Contractor to undertake the complex construction of the Jounama Small Hydro Power Station.
Disciplines covered
- Works performed in confined spaces.
- Underwater diving construction working including stop log demolition, construction/installation of new underwater stop logs, drilling and concrete works.
- Controlled low vibration concrete demolition and removal of the central plug.
- Supply and installation in the tunnel of a new 4.5m dia steel penstock.
- Connection and annular grouting of the penstock to the central concrete plug within the tunnel.
- Design, fabrication and installation of post-tensioned permanent ground anchors (GEGA system).
